Drooling…a food appreciation post for South Korea

South Korea was the country where the food got better with every meal. Beginning with a BIG miss on my first street food selection. I picked, what I later determined, was probably blood sausage. My tastebuds disagreed with whatever was going on in that bowl, moving me to offer it away in desperation to a Korean man passing by. He shook his head in objection, which at the time I interpreted as affirmation that blood sausage sucks. In retrospect he was probably (definitely) objecting to me, this foreign lady offering her partially eaten food, than to the sausage. Oops! After that, I was on a mission for deliciousness. And mission accomplished. Check it out!

I’m talking sizzling bibimbap (rice bowls)…

Cold noodles and an assortment of kimchi…

Hot noodles too! Specifically, this EPIC spicy seafood ramen.

And the obligatory Korean BBQ (brisket and pork belly) that just blasted expectations through the roof.

And for the sweetness I munched on…

Nutty street cart pancakes

Ice cream up to my nose

And squishy bubble tea!

Thanks for joining me on my Korean food journey! Now that my mouth is watering, time to eat. 😋
