On the way to Zermatt

Written on 28, 2017

Excuse my language, but holy SHIT I am on the train on my way to Zermatt and looking out the window I feel like I just opened a whole new can of Switzerland. The ice-blue Gatorade of the stream rushing through the gully beside me, the lush green juxtaposed against the raw and rigid exposed rock. Jeeeeze Louise I can’t do it justice in words or pictures this is a view deserving of the naked eye. With pockets of man-made walls of layered stone lining my path, im scooting by on my way to the mountain where I’ll experience my first day of solo snowboarding (*I ended up making a friend the moment I entered my hostel, so I never really boarded alone in the end), and I feel like I’m crossing through the combination of a scene from “Lord of the Rings” and the first trip I took backpacking through the Willowa mountains, tinged with the rock formations of the grand Tetons. What a view, what a place, what an opportunity, what a WORLD.
